I'll post the specs real quick:

Intel I7 8700k at 3.7ghz
NVIDIA GTX 1080ti
32gb Vengeance DDR4 Ram
1TB Samsung SSD

This is what everything is installed on that would be affected basically. My PC is hooked up to a Samsung 65inch TV with a motion rate of 120hz which far as I understood was my refresh rate.

My problem is I can't adjust my refresh rate higher than 60hz in windows settings, nvidia control, panel, or in games at all. I tried manually changing it and just lost the picture altogether. I swapped out an old HDMI cable for a brand new one, one I just bought today and verified meets all my requirements. So what am I missing? I thought about doing DisplayPort but would need to buy an adapter to go from DP to HDMI since the TV doesn't have a DP port.

So yea, its 120hz Motion rate (60hz via PC).

Those motion/frame interpolation refresh rates are very deceiving.

If you want a true UHD 120hz+ screen your looking at $800+.

Ok, this is what I thought might be the case when I found that motion rate. But with TV's and such I'm just not very knowledgeable. Thanks for the response.

Even if the refresh rate is set for 60hz though you should still be able to activate a "gaming mode" in the TV's software which will allow you to use that Motion Clear utility and this should still make your games look smoother then 60hz.
