hi. I would like to swap my existing NVMe SSD with new one but existing one originally had OEM Windows 10 on it that was upgraded to Windows 11 a while ago.

If i clone the existing SSD to a new one , will it transfer without issues ?

its a Asus laptop with 512 gb ssd that i would like to change ssd with better 512 gb one since the one installed is a really bad one
What makes your current SSD a "bad" one?
From a performance point of view, you will not likely notice any difference without a synthetic benchmark.
A more common reason is to increase the capacity in which case a clone process will do the job.

well the fact that i have ssd on another systems and it preform much better than this laptop.

it take 30-50 scc before i be able to open Firefox ... it just act something btw hdd and ssd.
i bet any NVMe can do much better than this

30 secs to open FF is NOT the result of the physical SSD.

You have other issues.

But of course, you've not informed us of what this existing drive is.

What, specifically, is bad with the current one?
its just really slow. dont care about benchmarks . all i know its from micron brand. and if i remember correctly, read speed was 1.2gb. i did that last year.

i dont care what ever number it is, but even my father laptop with a sata ssd and 4gb ram preform much better than this one with 16gb dual channel ram

you mean the brand of ssd written there?

MTFDHBA512QFD
Its already an NVMe drive.

From one of the major/best manufacturers.

As said, you have other issues.

yea i knew its a nvme one but i Don't know why is like this.

its half empty.
have no start up app beside IDM .
ssd health is +99
write is less than 10tb .
preformed SFC scannow and no error.

there are few apps installed on my pc .

so what could be the problem?

In Task Manager, in the Startup tab....what is the "Last BIOS Time"?
4.2 sec.
what does it mean?
is this Asus logo time? or something else? like pressing power.b untill windows desktop pop up? cause i am sure that this is more than 30sec

is this something related to SSD? my 12th gen pc (not my laptop) that have OS on HDD have 7.5 scc bios time

It means something else is the issue.
And it is almost certainly NOT the specific physical SSD.

More likely, software of some sort, potential malware.
Or ssimply too much gunk in Startup.

So what do you suggest? i have scaned my pc for virus, its fine , there are few apps installed and there are No startup thing beside normal driver stuff and IDM. so do you have any idea?

by the way, my vater laptop which its main use is Microsoft office and google earth app have low ram issue.
hardware is decent for this work but 4GB ram is a bit low and i'v seen it run almost full...
he have SU 650 as OS drive and its a Sata ssd.

since its impossible to add or change RAM, i have added 2 gB on windows settings to act as RAM , now its much better than before. do you think if i add a NVME on that laptop and change that ssd from sata to NVMe, makes a difference? its at least 3X better than SATA on paper but in daily use?

i have a WD SN570 laying around and maby i can use it on my own laptop and give mein to him

I have no idea where you're going here.

Fix one system at a time.

i thought first part is over and as i figured out from what you said, there i nothing i can do since OS files are OK, my ssd is decent, and i have less than 10 app installed and there are only 1 start up by me and 3 by Asus itself....
so it seems there is nothing more that i can change to fix the problem.
doubt if upgrade can fix it for me since i had same problem on previous version of windows as well
