Change the answering type

How to change the "request solutions to this Question (not a discussion)" after you have posted your question. Couldnt find the option anywhere. Im not sure what this does and I do not remember if I had this box checked or not but I do not like how the answering system works on my post. I have this orange "?" when mouseovering my post in the list of all the questions. What is the difference between the two options, Discussion and straight answer, anyway?

"Forum Discussion" = "Select as Best Answer" button is not available.
"Forum Question" = "Select as Best Answer" button available.

The difference is that "discussions" have no best answer.

If you wish to change the type you have to either use the moderator alert (little triangle button in the bottom right of each post) or PM a moderator directly with the request.

So that´s surprising. I mean it makes sense but I think they couldve just said it straight. The information about that option was way overly complicated for such a simple thing. Thank you
