Hi,

So today I was fixing my windows 10 as it had a problem with startup (bad system config info error) and i was starting to install new windows on my SSD. I had the old windows on my HDD and tried to install through a USB-stick.

I changed the boot order in BIOS to USB->SSD and left the hdd away from the boot order. Then the machine restarted with normal beep but monitor or keyboard got no signal.

First I tried troubleshooting the monitor and after testing other monitor and different cables on my laptop it seems the monitor is fine. next i removed the USB and hard drives and reset the bios and got the MOBO battery out for a while for a reset. Nothing happened. Next I went for RAM and GFX but nothing happened.

The startup seems fine there are light on on the MOBO but no external devices seem to work. My mouse does flicker light below it when I click so that's weird. Any ideas?

Specs:
MOTHERBOARD : ASUS P8H67-M
GFX : NVIDIA GTX 560
RAM : HYPERX 4gb 1333 X 2
HARD DRIVES:
KINGSTON 120 GB
SSD WD 1TB HDD
PSU : COOLER MASTER 750W
MONITORS: BENQ 24'' and LG 23''

I do hear a normal beep as usual and the hard drive and disk drive do start spinning.

Cause

The BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO bug check occurs if the SYSTEM hive is corrupt. However, this corruption is unlikely, because the boot loader, checks a hive for corruption when it loads the hive.
This bug check can also occur if some critical registry keys and values are missing. The keys and values might be missing if a user manually edited the registry or if an application or service corrupted the registry.
Resolution

Try booting into safe mode and then restart the OS normally. If the restart does not fix the problem, the registry damage is too extensive. Try the following steps.
If you have a system restore point, try restoring to an earlier restore point.
Reset your PC.
Use installation media to restore or reset your PC.
Use installation media to reinstall Windows.

reset the mobo jumper and see if tht helps...

The problem here is exactly that I can't get to bios because no signal to monitor. Or atleast I can't see what's happening. I tried resetting mobo jumper a few times according the manual instructions but nothing happens.

That thread is the first one I followed through but now I'm lost. The thing I'm wondering the most is how setting the boot order to UEFI or something else could break anything? And other thing I'm wondering is why am I not getting power to usb or monitor after resetting the BIOS. I'm starting to drift towards broken MOBO just can't figure out what might have gone wrong hardware wise. Considering GPU, hard drives and disk drive are getting power.

Curious if the OP is still here and managed to diagnose/fix the problem as I am experiencing a very similar issue where I updated the boot order in BIOS and now I get no signal through the monitor whatsoever despite the build working for years before this change.

reset the motherboard cmos and jumper settings...

Pretty much diagnosed that the mobo is busted. It has served its time and it's time to move to bigger better things! :) Already got a cool kit coming in the mail!

Ripped the machine apart and tested the components with another mobo (lent it from a friend). And the only one failing was the motherboard. But I think this is an extreme case with an old mobo (5 years old to be exact). If you newer hardware especially if you have warranty, then try to send it to be fixed!
