I have a ROG strix z790-a motherboard, msi 1000g PSU, GeForce 4070 super, I just changed over from a pre built case to a ASUS tuf 502 case, I am re using the fans from the pre built case. All of the components were in the original case working fine, when I plug in the new case the motherboard rgb turns on but when I press the power button nothing happens, anyone have any suggestions on a fix could be? It looks like everything is plugged into the motherboard correctly

Okay I will take it out now, I did try shorting it and still nothing
On top of the motherboard box, put the board in and try to start it by short-circuiting the 2 power switch contacts on the motherboard.
I told you before, the pump is sitting crooked, in your haste you've done something wrong.
It could be a cable that is pinched and causing a problem.

Okay so took it out got it to power on, put it back in the case with just the psu, board, cooler, ram and jumped it on, then put the gpu and hooked all the case wires and fans back up and now nothing again, nor can I jump it. If I unplug all the fans and case wires it can be jumped

The motherboard is failing somewhere and short-circuiting you.
Maybe a screw is stuck on a metal part or the motherboard is stuck on the standoffs that sit on the case.
Cut paper discs if necessary and place them

It all came down to not liking where I had a fan plugged in, everything is running good now, well the rgb on the fans isn’t on but everything else is good, thank you both for your help!
