Changed power supply and now nothing

I changed my power supply. Both good as far as I know. Plugged up the "new one" and then I was not getting a post. I kept messing around. Removing the ram, removing the GPU, resetting the cmos. Etc. Randomly when everything was in, it makes 5 beeps. So, I looked it up and it said CPU error. I don't believe that for a second. So, I check the power cable and I switch it around. The board of a 4 pin while I have a split 8 pin. Nothing happens. I switch it back and wait. Nothing. I put my "old" psu (which worked before ) on top of the case and plug in only Mobo and CPU. Still nothing. I'm lost

Did you connect the 8pin CPU power cable to the motherboard?
