Changed PSU, now my front plate audio jacks aren't working.

Today I swapped an old Dell PSU for a Corsair 750W, before I did this my front plate audio jacks were working fine, now they aren't recognized in the Playback/Recording tabs in the Windows sound manager. Because I was trying to work on my cable management, I unplugged everything I thought could be re-routed better for better airflow.
I'm a novice at putting computers together but I'm almost certain I plugged everything in where it should be, so naturally I have no idea why my FP audio jacks aren't working.

The USB and power button and fan light buttons work, just not the audio apparently.

I have a Corsair Carbide 400R case and a ASRock z77 Pro4 mobo.

I'm thinking this may be a software issue but doubtful because AFAIK changing a PSU wouldn't affect software, right?

Any help?

The front audio plug should be plugged into the bottom portion of the motherboard into the pins that are designated for it.

Here is a example of what it would look like along your motherboard.

This is usually called the "HD_AUDIO" pins, right? Because that is plugged in.

That is correct. Perhaps what you could do is remove the connector and place it back in just to make sure that it is in securely. You may also want to check on it to make sure it wasn't tugged unnecessarily from the other end.

Removed and put back, checked the other end to the best of my ability (they're in a tight spot, hard to see), the other end cables don't come out to the best of my knowledge so I couldn't re-seat them.

Still no dice.

I don't know of this helps, but my headphones and microphone are recognized when plugged into the motherboard through the back, so the headphones aren't faulty.

So when you go to the sound options panel you see both the mic and the headphone? If so are they set to default?

Only if they're plugged in from the back, when plugged in from the front it shows them as "not plugged in".

And yes they're set to default when they're plugged in (from the back of course).

Yea that is a bit bizarre hmm! makes me think something may be wrong with the connection not so much the power supply.

Yeah, I didn't suspect it was a power supply problem, but I can't find any improperly plugged cables. I can try and trace the related cables again and see if they're plugged in. The next course of action after that seems to be unplug everything and plug it back in again, which is a pain. :/

I don't know if you necessarily have to unplug everything then plug it back in. But it may be good to check to see that everything is in there snug.

Wow is this embarassing.. . So looking at the HD_AUDIO cable again, I noticed that I put the bottom row female connector on the top row of pins and left the bottom row of pins bare! Took it out and plugged it back in correctly this time and everything worked! I must've accidentally plugged it into the wrong row of pins 3 or 4 times...

I guess that's what happens when you're tall and the pins are very low on the motherboard, thank you a lot bigshootr8!
