changed socket on maximus viii hero should I get q code with out cpu or ram?

yea, its not really possible to physically change the CPU socket on a motherboard. and if you are able to the BIOS would be incompatible with whatever socket you changed it too because the motherboard wasn't designed that way

are you talking about a BIOS update or did you get a new motherboard?

LOL I replaced a broken 1151 socket with a new one...To clarify I don't have a cpu or ram that I can try in the board yet and was wondering if I should get any kind of q code?

LOL you do realize there are other types of sockets besides 1151 right?

My bad never knew people was daft enough to try replacing a socket with a different one.. How would that even work they have a different amount of solder balls and often in a different arrangement.

Now, to your question:
Assuming this swap was done correctly, it should be the same thing as the original board/socket without CPU or RAM.

But I have no idea what this board does without cpu or ram, I would assume I would get a q code or something but maybe not. I don't even know if the only problem was with the socket as I bought it from ebay so it could have other problems :/

The only real way to know is with CPU and RAM.
