changed to windows 10 now my pc is laggy and choppy

about 2 days ago i made the unfortunate mistake to upgrading my pc to windows 10. previously i had windows 7 ultimate and about 98% of the time my pc never showed any signs of lag, until i recently installed windows 10. i figured i try out the new windows, but unfortunately ever since installed windows 10 my computer has been showing signs of mouse lag applications opening up much slower. so today i had enough and downgraded back to windows 7 with the option they gave me (under settings). but i still am having mouse lag. anyone else experiencing the same problem? or anyone have any solutions? thank you.

specs are
8gb ram
gtx 970
1 tb hard drive
amd 8370e

GTX 970 is probably your problem. It is well known that Nvidia drivers do not play well with Win 10.

Download the latest driver from Nvidia. This should fix it.

If it doesn't, you will have to play with different drivers until you find one that works.

You may find that your old driver works, or one from 8 or 8.1.

When you do find one that works, do a clean install of it.
