I currently have an AMD FX 8320e with a Asus motherboard AM3+ socket and i was wondering if theres a way to install a Intel CPU with LGA1150 socket motherboard without reinstalling all my stuff?

This is a personal experience, but if you have windows 10 installed, then you wont have to do a clean intall. I dont know what does it does, but I bougth a i7 and a Gigabyte Gaming 7 thinking exactly like you, and then it just took a few minutes and booted without a problem.
If you have any other windows, you will have to do a clean install!

awe man! because I have windows 7, ive seen videos on youtube showing that if you uninstall drivers then replace the components it will work? not sure if its a thing or not.

Dont think so. When you install windows, it also install drivers that are compatible with your hardware. The problem comes when you want to change that hardware and windows cant boot because it does not have the drivers it needs to handle thath new hard, and cant download it also, because, of course, it cant boot.
Seems like Windows 10 got that resolve, dont know how. As I say, I upgraded from a FX 8320 and a Saberthoot mother to the I7 and the Gaming 7, and I got a very nice surprise when it just worked.

Thats pretty much exactly what im planning to do, Im going from a FX 8320E to an i7 4790 with the Kraith Motherboard, so I guess i gotta back up my stuff 🙁

Sorry, I deleted my post just before you replied. Of cos you're right in what you're saying, think i've left my brain somewhere while i've been out today 🙂

Hi, going from ASUS Z97 PRO Wifi and i7 4790k to ASUS Z270F STRIX and i7 6700k. So I should be fine right?

Hi I got my parts . Switched from ASUS Z97 pro (WI-FI AC) and I7 4790K to ASUS Z170 MAXIMUS Ranger VIII.

First boot it took about 20 minutes to get to desktop while it was "Getting devices ready". Then a restart, and now all was as if nothing was changed.

But just for safety I went to ASUS Site and reinstalled all the chipset, lan, audio, etc. drivers.

Of course, its only been 12 hours. I played some games which worked flawlessly. If I have any issues in upcoming days. I'll report.
