I recently broke my motherboard and I brought another one of the same kind from ebay I have the dell optiplex 790 (MT) I looked at this list of motherboards and there is many versions of them some have different colors than my original and this one I'm getting has one less SATA port. Does it really matter? and will my PC still work normally despite of the differences even though they are almost close to identical?

Solution
Why not just try it? The replacement motherboard either works or not. Boot some Linux LiveCD first, with your disks disconnected, to make sure it actually works.

You should look at the MB and get the part# off of the white sticker next to the blue PCIe 16x slot. HY9JP has the 4 SATA ports. The MT case has more bays so more SATA ports. The DT version JC32F can't use them. Other than that they look the same. It will probably work OK but if you shop by part# you can get the correct one.
