Heya!

I wanted to ask if anything should be changed about this build?
Also, should I use my 60Hz monitor (of my all-in-one) as the screen or look for a new one? As from what I've heard people state that Hz cap FPS in games. Is this true?

Small edit: Budget is ~£2300

Thanks alot!

1. Your parts list looks really good, except for the kinda meh quality PSU, but I can tell you're getting a prebuilt and I know they don't really give you a good choice there.

2. Are you sure your AIO even has inputs? It might have outputs for a second monitor, but I doubt it has the ability to accept another device as an display input. AIOs are computers first and monitors second.

3. Yes HZ is the physical limit for how many FPS your monitor can actually show you. Your computer can generate more FPS than it shows, but a 60hz monitor will only show you 60FPS, 144hz, 144fps, ect. It's not typically a big deal unless it's below 60HZ, or the monitor has a low response time that can lead to ghosting (after images of moving objects), an AIO screen may very well have a low response time. 144hz does look smoother than 60hz, but 60hz isn't a negative.

Hey, this is a build created with pcspecialist so parts could be exchanged. I'm going to be buying the pc in about 3 weeks so there is room for improvement. The PSU is 850W due to the overall system needing just 559W.

Next, since I'll be buying from pcspecialist, I'm unsure of which monitor would be best for me as I am really used to a 2560x1440 27-inch. Would you say a smaller screen and smaller resolution would do me better or should I stick with it. Also, do you know some monitors I should look at?

Edit addon: Instead of that Corsair H60 Hydro Cooler w/ PCS Liquid Series Ultra Quiet Fans I'll be going for this one: Corsair H100i GTX Hydro Cooler w/ PCS Liquid Series Ultra Quiet Fans.

Thanks so much for your reply

The cooler already comes with thermal compound. Most monitors come with the necessary cables. The Corsair RMx series is good and now comes with a 10 year warranty, I believe. 650 watts would be plenty, though. A 5 TB HDD is huge, and you are putting all of your eggs in one basket. You might want to get a UPS instead of a surge protector.

I got told that you could never have enough thermal paste. :p

Reason I chose the 850W is because I need some breathing room as I will be upgrading in about a year to 2 980ti's (SLI) and another 16GB bit of RAM. Also, I chose the 5TB HDD because I'd be wanting to create youtube videos and maybe do some streaming too so I'd probably need that space anyway. However, would the increase in performance be drastically improved if I exchanged the 500GB Samsung 850 and 5TB HDD for 2 Samsung 1TB 850 SSDs?

Thanks :)

It sounds like you are collecting thermal paste like women collect shoes. Just know that it should be applied very thinly. Video processing would benefit from having two SSD's, but you give up some storage capacity.

It's a prebuilt, they'll put the thermal paste on for him, and Artic MX-4 is better than whatever corsair's stock is, so it's not a bad upgrade, maybe 1-3 C cooler.

A 5 TB HDD is good as well for youtube because a 20minute video is gonna be like 7-40GBs in size.

A UPS is only really necessary if you NEED to keep running if there is a blackout, otherwise you just want to make sure your equipment isn't damaged, and that's what a surge protector is for.

I wouldn't get a monitor from PCspecialist, they're gonna be a bit overpriced, and they're not gonna do anything special to the monitor for you, so there's not benefit to buying from them.

Here's a few recomendations for 1440p monitors:
27" AOC, 211GBP
