I recently built a gaming PC with an HD 7850 1GB. All games ran smoothly on very high settings except for Empire and Napoleon TW. The Grand Campaign in both games lags when I move the screen around, but the battles work smoothly. I researched this problem on internet and found that Empire and Napoleon have problems with certain graphics cards. So, I am thinking to sell HD 7850 on eBay and to buy a GTX 660. Do you think GTX 660 will be a good choice?

It is not really an upgrade that I am looking for, but a replacement. HD7850 can run my games with 30+ fps, but there seems to be some glitch with ETW and NTW. GTX 760 sounds like a good idea, but it's very expensive. I am buying my cards on eBay auctions, used. Couldn't find GTX 760 on auctions. Maybe because it is new. I don't feel like spending over $200. $150 is my price range.

If your in the 150$ price rang the GTX 650 ti boost it your best bet. Has really similar performance to the 7850 but the 7850 does slightly pull ahead in most games.

My CPU is Core i5 2500k @ 3.3 GHz. I tried overclocking the cpu and the card, but that lag still happens, independent from performance. I heard there is some problem with most ATI cards on these two games. When I tested it on GTX 650, that lag didn't happen at all.
Just to remind, the lag is like a clipping effect that occurs on campaign maps of Empire and Napoleon Total Wars. The FPS shows almost 100 frames per second but the lag still occurs. That's why I want to replace ATI card with a GTX card, because GTX cards don't seem to have this lagging error.
Not to say that ATI is bad, but apparently Napoleon and Empire are optimized better for nVidia. It could even be the game's developer's error, but not the card's.
Also, I want a card that would have about the same or a little better performance as in HD 7850, because I just recently built this PC, and it is a budget PC.
