Changing graphics card from AMD to Nividia... without a display.

Heres the problem; I've got a new card (Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC) and my old card was an AMD R9 240. Said card shat out to the point there was no display, period. So, after two months I finally got a new card for relatively cheap and from a reliable provider; the card itself works fine, turns on, fans spin initially and shut off during the start up... but I'm getting no video when plugged into the back of the card.

I double checked, card is seated in nicely and so on... so I have a sneaking suspicion it would have to do with the AMD drivers still on my desktop. But I can't put in the old card and uninstall them because that card finally died.

To top it off, I tried the on board graphics with a VGA AND a HDMI and im still getting no display whatsoever; it's getting increasingly frustrating, and I may be missing things but... any of you lot got a bloody clue? Because I'm all out and at the point of just giving up.

Yeah the screen works; I figured the problem out with onboard display... turns out you actually need the card removed but I wasn't told that at all hhh. So I did a restart into safemode, and the card worked, from there on out I installed the disc drivers from the disc that came WITH the card temporarily... lo and behold on restart out of safe mode it worked...
So:

    No display with new card.
    No display with on board.
Old card died and can't be put back.

Are you sure the monitor is actually working. Can that be checked. Does it have an on-screen menu that is proving there is some life. Can you change monitor or test your monitor/cables with another PC/Laptop? Do you get to the BIOS and are you checking the settings there?

Feel a little silly posting this now that I've figured it all out and sorted the problem out, but for some reason I was just... incredibly stumped and frustrated, a combination of that made it harder for me to figure out what exactly was going on.
