This may be a Macintosh thing, or a PS thing, but I carefully named some
printer-paper profiles, placed them in Color sync folder, and found the
original name, (all letter and number combo's) is all that shows up in
choosing them in the dialogue under Print with Preview (PS CS).

Is there a way to conform the name of the Profile as it is displayed in
PS to something one can remember or interpret?

An ICC-profile contains an internal field with a name. This name can
be different from the file name. Photoshop show this internal name,
but doesn't care about the file name (at least as far as I know).
Another point may be, that a printer profile should be tagged
internally as an output profile. Otherwise it may not show up in the
printer profile list.

Yes, thanks, I'd come to that conclusion. It shows up where it should,
but I'd like to change the internal name so I can recognize it when I
switch back from another paper.
