Changing location of backup files

So i have a 1tb harddrive and 500gb of it is now gone to backup files and the backups doesn’t even use 100gb and i have a 250 gb hdd so how do i change the location to the other harddrive so that i have 1tb free space?

Some how my 1tb disc gets like split into two separate parts and i don't know if it’s done that because of that the backupfiles/systemfiles need to have some were to go... I can’t really explain it better
