The stock memory in my PC is 1600 MHz, but by default the GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard runs it at 1333 MHz. Can I just increase the memory clock to X8.00 and run the memory at 1600 MHz, without changing any other settings?

In other discussions about this motherboard, the solution was to overclock the CPU, since that raises the memory frequency as well. But I don't really need the CPU to be any faster on this machine, since it's an audio server that never drives more than 70% CPU load. Faster memory might be nice though, since the audio is all cached in tiny samples that are frequently accessed.
