Hello. So I would want to upgrade my computer to two GPUs but I have few problems questions.

1. When I change my motherboard, can I change the chipset from Fm2+ to LGA1150 without problems? Will there be a problem with the cpu if I use SLI?

2. Do I have to do anything with my operating system? (windows 8.1)

3. Best LGA1150 mobo for SLI?

4. What would be the best card for SLI that is not so expensive and has a low power requirement for two GPUs

5. Best PSU for two GPUs? (depending of the card ofc)

Thanks for all the possible answers!

No need for Platinum efficiency pricy units. Efficiency doesn't equate to quality, not always. A 750W EVGA B2 or Rosewill Capstone or XFX will easily take up the load with ease. Unless you're running your build 24/7, there's no need for Plat. PSU. Bronze or Gold will do.
Hi there,
1st I think you're slightly confused about sockets and their relation with SLI setups. Your motherboard's socket depends on the CPU you have. You cannot change a FM2+ motherboard for a LGA 1150 without changing your CPU from AMD to Intel. The socket on your motherboard won't affect much the SLI compatibility.

Now as you asked :
1. No you cannot change chipset unless you switch your cpu.
2. There's nothing to change in your OS. You might need to update your drivers and firmware in order to recognize the 2nd GPU.
3. I like Asus Z97-A since it's fairly cheap and good, but will not be compatible with you CPU if it's FM2+.
4. This will depend on your budget and most high end card will SLI (or crossfire) fairly well. I think nVidia cards are better for multiple GPU setup because they run cooler than AMD.
5. Something between 850 and 1000 watts will be good. I like BeQuiet PSUs because of the massive amount of amperage on their 12V rail. But EVGA G2 850w and Corsair RM1000 and very good choice too.

Can you tell us what is the exact made and model of your processor so we can help you with the motherboard?

Oh sorry the first question I meant that if I change the mobo AND the cpu. I know that they wouldn't work if I have FM2+ CPU and a LGA 1150 mobo.

But I will get an i7-4770k and a LGA 1150 mobo with it.

Thank you! I will probably get better PSU (750w-850w platnium) and one Gtx 970. It's just the money that is a problem for a student like me.
