So I bought myself these two: MSI 970A-G43; AMD X4 FX 4100, and I want to set everything up properly but I heard about the issue with moving a HDD with windows to a new pc. Well in my case it's only the motherboard and processor, these are my current specs:

-GA P55-UD3
-i5 750 2.6 ghz
-EVGA GTX 760
-12gb DDR3 ram
-Western Digital WD10EZRX 1TB
-Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 64bit

My question is obvious, can change my motherboard and cpu without reinstalling the windows?

PS: I know there are a lot of threads out there, but they're either old or have completely different specifications

The drivers and registry settings in your current Windows installation are pointing to and looking for your old motherboard. Not finding it when placed in a new system (motherboard/CPU), the boot process will fail. A Windows Repair *MAY* resolve the issue, but it is likely a fresh install will be required.

I would also note that this is only for retail versions of Windows 7. OEM versions of Windows 7 cannot be transferred to a new motherboard.
