So im going to upgrade my motherboard and CPU
Currently i have a Amd A86600k CPU and a FM2A55M-HD+ motherboard
im going with the intel i5-4460 with a different motherboard.
I will use a bootable USB so that i can instal windows 8 pro on it (is my current OS)
If i have to select on the boot where i want to install my win 8, i will say on the same harddrive my current (OS) is installed. I use the same Harddrive. is this possible. Will windows make a double installation on this drive?

My question is, will this be possible whitout damaging my current files. so that i save my current game saves and movies, pictures, document..etc

Since Windows has become more portable with the introduction of Windows To Go you could simply just install your new board + cpu and boot up without reinstalling Windows. You WILL have to install drivers, though. This is not recommended (but has worked for me 3 times - Core 2 Duo desktop -> AMD Phenom desktop -> i5 laptop) and you WILL have to reactivate Windows, either by phoning MS up and saying your old board died and you need to reactivate and they should approve your current key, or by buying another copy.

Otherwise, no, you would have to upload all your files to Onedrive or another cloud storage provider or back them up to a USB hard drive then format your internal.

Can I ask why the 4460 and not an unlocked model, and why not Skylake?

Because the i5 4460 is a nice relative cheap buy with nice preformance in combination with good GPU. If i go for a skylake its more expansive and i need to select a new motherboard that costs more than the MOBO i planned to buy..
