Changing page file location windows 7

I have downloaded mobi book files from gutenberg free books to my 64 bit Win. 7 computer Now Ineed to transfer them to my kindle touch, No matter how closely I follow directions the files are not transferred. All I am managing to do is duplicate the files on my computer. the problem seems to be no document folder for kindle files on the computer. There is a document place to store general documents but none specfically for kindle files. From the directions it would appear that book files must be sent to kindle document folder,. I have tried scores of times without success

I dont have a kindle but is there a was to make your kindle a "mass storage device"?
