Changing settings turns my screen off . - help :.(

as i said

Changing settings in games turns my screen off

i play steam games and league of legends

when i change the resolution to lower or higher the monitor turn off and on then tells me
" formato is not vaildo"

its an old monitor but i got this problem recently

although every time i change the qualtiy or sound whatever

the screen turns off and on then i get the massege again ..

my system specs

1060 msi gaming x 6gb
i5 5700
16 ram
