Changing SSD as default for downloads

Hi,

I have a new system with 120GB SSD and 1TB Hard Drive. Operating system has been loaded on the SSD along with Steam and a couple of games. 1HB Hard drive is empty. How do I set up the hard drive as the default for all future downloads. I am running windows 7 64 bit.
I am not very computer literate however have carefully followed instructions found on this site:-
Regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion changing the drive path for Program FilesDir from C:\Program Files and C\😛rogram Files (x64) to begin with H\:.
After restart anything I try to load is still trying to install on the C drive.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Any advice appreciated.

any file that u would download using any browser will first ask for a Path , in wich it will save the file ...
but u can also try installing a "Download Manager" , i use IDM , but u can use Flashget and it's is free ,
any time u'll want to download something it'll ask for a path to save the file , u can set a default path also in their "Preference" section , but do not forget to change their "TEMP" path too ( also in preferences )
