Changing system locale?

Can changing the system locale to something different cause BSOD's? I recently changed my system locale to korea because of the boxes i got instead of korean letters but 2 days later I got a BSOD AFTER downloading a game. To take safety measures, I restored my computer but I'm curious if its the system locale or the program.
