Question Changing system with same hdd

Okay so i'm changing my system now.
but i want to know if i can use the same os installed on my current hdd or do i have to reinstall it again to use it in the new system?
plus i've 2 hdds so they wont be formatted when using in the new system right?
i just wanna know that.

This GREATLY depends on the difference between old and new.
The closer together the parts are, the more likely it is to 'just work'.

3 possibilities:
  1. It boots up just fine
  2. It fails completely
  3. It boots up, but you're chasing issues for weeks/months.
A clean OS install is strongly recommended, often required.

And also, the Win 10 license.
For the OS activation, read and do this before you change any parts:

I'm currently running a dell optiplex 755 mt q6600.
and will upgrade to a sandy bridge i5 (or something else better) probably.

Windows will likely revoke your license because of a big hardware change.
Also, consider getting an SSD for faster boot times.
They don't cost that much.
A 2.5" SATA III one will be fine.
