Hallo.

I have a Canon Digital Ixus 500. And on the CF-Card the filename of
every image is "IMG_00001" and the number increases.

Can i change the name of the Imagefiles direct on the DigiCam to
"IMG_date" e.g. "IMG_17.5.2004"?

Not in-camera, but after transfering them to a computer using a
program the makes use of the embedded EXIF-info in the JPEGs
containing info like data and time.

Which program that does this best or is easiest to use I have no
knowledge of, maybe someone else has suggestions?

when you d/l pics to your computer.

It is if you have bought a Fuji camera.

I do not know if it will work with any other camera.

Fuji Download for the camera I own.

This is the Viewer, I think.
FinePix Series Exif Viewer Software
Operating Systems: Windows98/Me/2000/XP

It looks and acts a lot like Internet Explorer, but it does have a file
naming function. Mine is called "FinePix Viewer Ver. 3.2"
