In the bios there is no option to change the FSB, as I want to overclock my Q6600. I have read on forums that people have managed to overclock by changing the FSB, but after many hours of searching I have not found how. Please can anyone help! 😱
What kind of system do you have, if it's a dell or HP or anything of that sort, most likely, it's locked and you will not be able to modify anything in the BIOS... other than that, i really dont see why you wouldn't be able to modify anything on the ASUS board
They are there> hidden in the advanced settings>jumper free configuration. you must enable AI overclocking or some other setting like that. check in the manual. it'll tell you where the fsb settings are
My system was bought at a random Korean shop. I have checked in the advanced settings but their is no setting. I guess it must just be locked.
Thanks for info on that SetFSB program I will give that a go. Do you know is their any greater risk using a program like that compared to doing it in the bios?
Yes there is, you need to choose the correct PLLID number also you won;t get an overclock that is as stable. Try Asus o.c. gear before setfsb tat might work better
I have a P5Q-E motherboard. It has the AM bios. In my bios I have a AI Tweeter option tab. In that tab all the options were set to auto. The first option in that tab (forget what it's called) I had to set to manual to enable all the other options. Don't know if that will work for you or not, but hope it helps.
