Hi, I have Acer E1-570G with Intel i3-3217U (1,8Ghz,3MB L3 Cache) and i want to replace it. My question is, is the processor on this model laptop changeable and if it is how can i know which processors would fit into my motherboard.
Thank you!
In the retail world some companies try hard to make some things so they can not be upgradable such as a motherboard only being made for one type of case and laptop wise the CPU being soldered to the board. This means eventually the customer will have to come back and buy a whole new system from them.
For example my Dad has a mini pc with an i3 and integrated graphics but the board does have a PCIE slot thou all he can fit in it due to the small case is a crummy low profile Radeon 7750 which is capable of medium settings Bethesda games kind of.
So now he is saving for a better pc, I keep advising he buys the parts separately so he can then change a part when he needs to in the future.
