Charging laptop with Thunderbolt 3 in car

I may buy Dell XPS 13, which has Thunderbolt 3. It should be possible to charge laptop via this port. Can I just connect my USB port in car with Thunderbolt 3 to charge the laptop?

To charge your laptop via usb type c, it requires a specific protocol: USB power delivery 2.0.
It will most likely not charge your laptop at all as it will require a specific voltage/chip on both the device and the charger itself.
