Western europe: CP850 (DOS), CP1252 (Windows)
USA: CP437 (DOS), CP1252 (Windows)

I think, for DOS everyone uses what happens to be set up in his BIOS.
For me, that happened to be codepage 437 (which is substantially
identical to 850 in most parts; 437 has more pseudographic characters,
850 has a few more accents).

The PHost language files have cp437/850 for Estonian, French and German,
cp852 for Polish, and cp866 for Russian.

Winplan has an option "Translate German characters" or something like
that which translates a few characters from the Windows codepage 1252
(substantially identical to latin-1) and back.

PCC II is going to support codepages 437, 850, 852, 866, 1250, 1251,
1252, ISO 8859-1 and 8859-2, and KOI8-R.
