Charter Internet Is Being Shotty

My internet has had some problems ever since I had it, but now it is getting worse. It will be fine for a while and then its like the connection drops. I can especially notice it when playing online games as it will be going smoothly then start to majorly lag for a bit then back to normal.

I did a ping test and it is showing packet loss and jitter. The weird thing though is that when I do a speed test I am getting 20 more mb/s download than I should while my upload and ping seems normal. I have looked around for a possible fix but none of them seem to apply to me.

However, most of my recent ping tests have shown "unable to test packet loss"

I tried to contact charter but their customer service is probably one of the worst. However, I was looking at my modem because we recently had a charter technician come out and hook up tv service. It seems when he got here he also mistakenly put a telephone box that was hooked up to the internet. I unplugged the cable from the splitter/telephone box so now it is a straight shot to the modem, and now everything is working perfectly fine. I guess it was just the bad job done by the technician?
