hey guys,
just a quick question. i brought a new case master cooler MB510L and was wanting to move my whole rig and ditch the old case. looking at the case im thinking of setting up 2 or 1 front and 1 top and one back all 120mm fans. after searching the forum and read somewhere that i wont have any more plugs to power the rest of the fan except for just one. so i brought myself a deepcool fan hub that could plug in four fans. and do i just plug the fan hub (with all the fans connected) to the power fan connector? or chassis fan?
my mobo is a : asrock B85M-hds and the fan brand still unsure. as price here in indonesia is kinda pricey if i dont choose the chinese brands.

thanks kindly for any help!

Solution
To answer your question first: yes the fan hub can be plugged into any fan header (make sure the CPU fan header is used).

Second: make sure that your case airflow is balanced for intake/outtake. So it would be better to have two in front and one back and one top than to have two pulling air in and making negative air pressure. I have had cases where an extra outtake fan helped cool my computer better, but this was due to a substantial difference in the CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) of the fans (the ones in the front were more premium). So it would be best to try the equal intake/outtake first. Then (I would pre-install the fan before doing this) plug in the other fan into the header and see if it lowers the temperatures. If the...

If the difference is negligible, I would go without the extra fan.

Solution
According to ASRock website, your MoBo has 3 fan connectors (4 pin CPU_FAN1 and CHA_FAN1 and 3pin PWR_FAN1). I would connect the CPU cooler to CPU_FAN1 and the hub to the CHA_FAN1.
The best what you can do is what mentioned above, equal intake/exhaust CFM. Or you can keep positive air pressure (intake CFM slightly higher than exhaust), so your system won't get so dusty so fast.
One important thing, check out if the total current of all your fans are not too high for your MoBo (usually max 1A for connector)
