So i was going to buy two new fans to my case (Noctua f12) my case (bitfenic shinobi with window) comes with 2 pre-installed fans intake infront and exhaust back. I now see that my Motherboard (asrock 970 extreme4) only has 3 cha_fan inputs and two Cpu_Fan1, and a Pwr_FAN1 input(s). So i will take one fan and put it on the side window, to cool the GPU, that will go to Cha_fan3 input. but where should i put my other fan? can i connect it to the Cpu_Fan2 or the Pwr_fan1 inputs? or can't i have the other fan just the one, as there are no ports available? many thanks

Yeah but then the fan would go at full speed all the time, wouldn't that be a little loud? or are the noctua that great as of sound :? :)

hmm strange my mobo Pwr_fan1 only has a 3pin connector and the noctua has a 4pin connector... (and a 4pin to 2x4pin connector). and the only 4pin connector i can see is the Cpu_fan1 connector... Can i connect the noctua 4pin connectors into the 3pin Pwr_fan1 or should i do it in the 3pin Cha_fan1 (and move the one exhaust fan to the Pwr_fan1 connector)? anyone have an answer?

FAN,PWR-Power 3 pin connector. PWM-Pulse Width Modulation fans 4 pin connector

The 4pin fan can be connected to a 3pin connector. However the PWM function(speed control) will not be available
