I had a lot of problems with cha_fans. I want to buy a z170 board and asrock is the cheapest choice that does not blown up my budget. Recently i discovered how to calculate amazon shipping to portugal and the result is 85 dollars. SO, i will buy my fans at amazon.es Spain is side t side with portugal so the shipping costs are low and this fans are peanuts: https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B002KTVFTE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL
They are only 3pin. I heard that 3pin fans lost idk what.
First: What does a 4pin fan has that 3pin does not?
Second: Can I use this(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0047CNXLK/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL) for connect 4 3pin fans?
THanks

Solution
Those 3 pin fans cannot be controlled via pwm , only by voltage if your board supports it, they will still fit a 4 pin fan header.

The 4 pin variant is the f12 pwm which is a but more expensive.

There is also the pwm pst which has a splitter built innao you can plug up to 3 fans into a single board header.
