chassis opened.please check or clear...error

yesterday i used my pc for net browsing and today when i opened it.it was not starting.it was running the fans and green led but not showing anything on display.i tried many things like resetting the bios ...etc and finally made it run but now the problem is that whenever i start it it says chassis open.please check or clear....i tried many things for this like disabling the case status adding a jumper on the ci pins on the motherboard but no use.anyone please help


and i can go to startup windows normally after pressing f1 key.but when i restart or start it again it shows the same error

There should be a choice in the bios to clear the chassis warning.

there is no option to clear chassis warning.there is a option to reset case status when i use that nothing happnes

i dont know abt the model but it is hcl's 2008's model and it has
945gcm-s2l mobo and core2duos e7500

Under PC health status change the top one "reset case open status" to Enabled. Then save and exit.

i tried that but its showing it again; "chassis opened.please check or enter setup to clear

If the wire is plugged in on the motherboard and you've reset it in the bios then something is wrong with the piece that detects the door has been opened. It should be some type of pin or sensor.

You could also try unplugging the pin from the motherboard that goes to the sensor, then resetting it in the bios again.

yes i know about that and i have tried setting a jumper on the pin and then it shows chase is open in the pc health status.again the same error in the post

there is no sensor there is only 2pin connector for bios.adding the jumper makes it tell the case is open and removing it tells it is closed but either way the error is coming

If there's no sensor or pin on the door then how would it know you opened the case? That's the sensor or pin I'm talking about.

look i tried resetting/enabling/disabling the bios with the jumper and without the jumper.anyother way would be appreciated

there is absolutely no sensor or switch at the door the pin where the sensor had to be placed is empty from the day i bought the pc

You aren't listening to what I'm saying. I'm not talking about the bios. I'm not talking about the jumper on the motherboard.

For the warning to come up it has to sense that the cover has been removed, which means there is a magnetic sensor or pin that the door interacts with on the frame of the case. Check to make sure the pin isn't stuck or the sensor hasn't moved.

i am too not talking about the bios.there is a pin next to the batteries for bios.and there is another pin for the sensor at the bottom of the motherboard(empty with nothing). and i have checked it there is nothing at the door.i have opened the case many times before but this error have never come up

Ah, then if it won't reset or turn off with no sensor in place it may just be a malfunction with the motherboard. It is 7 years old.

yes. but there is nothing else wrong with it.ok chuck it. anyway i was going to assemble a pc after 3 month and was thinking to make a few bucks with this one.i will try to fix it somehow.anyway thanks
