I buy it....actually, I don't mind this optimization since I think it makes it look the same (according to my eye) with a slight performance increase.

nVidia's optimzations, on the other hand, need a serious IQ tune-up.

Hmmm. They certainly had some snappy answers. I guess this has to be judged subjectively anyway. And as we all know, subjective reviews don't go over well. Any review that contains an approximation of "IQ with the 6800 Ultra looks better to us" or "to our eye, the x800 looks better" is going to get flamed by the opposite camp. Going to buy my new GFX card at the end of July, I'm sure there will be plenty more posts here to help me decide
