I'm a poor college student. I built my first machine before I left with the help of the guys here :) But the old monitor I took with me is starting to seem a bit fuzzy. I am looking to spend near 100 dollars, but I can starve myself for a few weeks if I have to.

I have limited space on my desk at school because I also have my tower and powerbook on it, so 17" is really as big as i can go, and I'd rather not go down to 15" unless price forces me too.

I looked on newegg and found a bunch of no-names, a viewsonic that had a few compaints about them dying, and a samsung that seemed fairly decent all for about 120-140.

any suggestions, guy? :)

I usually use newegg for buying this kind of stuff, is that site reliable? And I'm not so sure I like the idea of not even knowing what model or manufacturer it is on some of those :\ And those are used, correct?

Yes, used, but tested and garraunteed to work. I have heard good, and for the price, can not be beat. The 19" Dell states it is a Dell/ Sony Trinitron P-991 flat , which was a $600 monitor for only $89 , and a 90 day warranty.

Actually, for one in your situation, this is the deal. You get a good 19" for less than a new 15".
