so i am really wanting to get a 4k monitor to watch videos on and maybe play games like lawbreakers or sniper elite 4 on my 1060. I know the 1060 might have trouble with 4k so 1440p is what im going to play at on most games. But i am low on money and was wondering if this monitor would be decent enough for just gaming and what are the pros and cons of buying?
(i know its super cheap and tacky, but not many other options. my budget is £250)

DON'T!!!

If you don't have the GPU to support 4k gaming or other graphically heavy workloads it is not worth it.
Especially if you intend to buy the cheapest 4k monitor when even the mid-range have problems with down sampling scales to 1440p || 1080p etc. Buy a good 1440p display with higher Hz like 144Hz instead, you wouldn't be disappointed!

A piece of advice for future hardware purchases is to NEVER EVER look at the cheapest you can find IF it is not a trusted/well known brand. Look closely at the specs for the monitor it is ambiguous if it supports 60Hz@DP AND 30Hz@HDMI or just 30Hz nor could I find any info whatsoever about the ElectriQ EIQ-284KMB it's not listed on Electriqs homepage. A qualified guess would be that it is one of LG's panels wrapped inside and if it is the one i suspects I wouldn't buy it.

Good Hunting!

thanks for the link, ill keep it in mind.

i have my gtx 1060 at the moment and that can do 4k in most of the games i play, as i odnt play demanding titles. i am ok with 60hz as any higher increases the money needed drastically. a 1440p 144hz was my ideal monitor but they were far too much.

The electriq is good 'for the 'money' , good quality screen , cheap case build quality & cheap plastics.

If you had the ability to run 4k gaming its worth the punt but in all honesty with a 1060 you plain don't.

& yes you can play at at 1440 or 1080 on it but if that's the case its wasted money if you're not actually using 4k resolutions.
