I've been looking on buying a new PC but I figured it could be better to instead purchase a dock for my laptop. I already have a GPU that I don't use (Gainward GTX 960) and I was looking for the cheapest way (MAX $200AUD) to hook it up to my laptop.

The laptop that I'm planning to use is an ASUS UX360UA (8gb DDR3 RAM, i5 6200U, 2 SSD's) and yes I am aware my CPU is a bottleneck.

I do not want to disassemble the laptop in any way or even open the backing of it as that will void my warranty. However, I am fine with getting a PSU and other parts to handmake an external GPU that connects to one/multiple of my ports.

Thanks :)

Or you save up a little bit and get a used 3rd gen I5 system which will be a much better option.

There is no way for you to hook up a dock to that laptop externally. It does not have thunderbolt.
SImply put you can't use a gpu dock with your laptop.
