[SOLVED] Cheap Fix for my PC

Hi All;

My motherboard has been playing up recently and the pc in general simple tasks has become laggy all of a sudden. Simply playing a youtube video with sound has major sound lag, crackles and win10 also lags. I have 150-200GBP to spend on a fix/upgrade to fix it and i believe the motherboard is the fault.

I Have a system and here are the specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200

8GB(4x2GB) Ram

IPIBL-LB Mobo (OEM)

128 Integral P SSD

Palit Geforce 760

800W Kolink PSU



As i have a spare case lying around, my plan is to buy a new CPU, RAM and MOBO, and use my old GPU, SSD and PSU.

I'm considering the following:

i3-9100F

MSI B365M PRO-VDH

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3200Mhz

Does this seem alright at GBP180 and are there any other recommendations

Also, will i need to do a BIOS update as i have no other cpu to do it with and have never done one before. Will the CPU and MOBO work out of the box?

Will the CPU and MOBO work out of the box?

Visit the MSI web site and look up the motherboard model compatibility list, see if that CPU is listed.
