I'm looking for an acceptable mic for gaming and skype. I have a budget of about $20. I don't plan on doing youtube, commentaries etc etc, I just need a good mic for communicating with friends and teammates. Thanks!
Ive heard You can get some pretty good lapel mics for pretty cheap on amazon. You know the sort of ones you clip onto your shirt colar. They sound really good
Don't those also pick up background noise?
All Mics pic background Noise. The better the mic, the more it will pick up. You use software to mitigate this problem (by setting a minimum db required for the computer to record the sound), not the mic itself.

Im not really sure i have never used one myself. For refernce, its the mics they use in news and shows like that. I know for a fact the plug in using mic jack, so most motherboard audio settings allow noise isolation and ambient noise dampening. So if you do one and there is background noise, fiddle with the settings and see which works best however it may take a while
