cheap gpu for extra monitor

hi, i have a r9 390x in my system, with a monitor attached to it.
problem is that i want a second monitor. i already have a monitor but with only vga, and my gpu does not support analoge.

now is my question if i can buy a second cheap gpu only for that monitor (so game on the r9 390x and use the second gpu only for the second monitor).


hope you guys understand what i mean with this. english is not my mother language 😀.

You can buy a dvi to vga adapter instead of buying another gc.

the problem is that the r9 390x does not have analogy output (nor as vga, nor on the dvi)

yes, but the problem is that i need DVI-I (that carries analoge)
and the gpu has 2 DVI-D connectors.

i have a converter for DVI-I to vga but im missing the 4 pins that a dvi-i has but not the dvi-d

Another gpu may lower the bandwidth for the 390x which you'd want to avoid and would also probably cost more than an active adapter.

Ok sure, then just buy a new adapter? Like k114 said, it probably will do more harm than good if you bought a second gpu.
