I need a cheap gpu (under $50) to upgrade on intel hd graphics. The integrated graphics I have works fine so I don't need better performance, I just need it for the hdmi slots on the back to support 2 monitors (I only have one on my motherboard).
Whatever card you get, you'd have to make sure it has dual-hdmi because you can't use the one of the mobo and the one off the dGPU at the same time. That being said, if you get a card with an HDMI and a DVI-D, they make a cheap DVI-D -> HDMI cable which will do just fine.
on your mb if there an hdmi port you can buy a ddmi to dvi cable for the second monitor. also if it a newer intel mb with build in ipgpu you can turn both the onboard and a gpu at the same time by seeing if under primany display there a muilt monitor setting if your mb has the option of turning that line on you can use both the onboard and a cheap gpu at the same time.
Well you could go the route of buying a new card for around £50 or $50.
But if your after something with a bit of kick for that money you could try your luck on e-bay.
For example a ATI 7970 card went for about £55 two days ago on e-bay.
Fully working may I add, and they are old but still very powerful, and keep up with most new games today.
You may have to turn a few in game FX off or lower a few settings in game slightly. but they still chug along at a decent frame rate at 1080p in most games.
