Hello fellow Tomsforumers!!! Today you have the exciting chance to learn about my new PC build. I am 14 and my birthday is June 19, 1997 I built this entire system from scratch I had nothing. So sit back and relax everybody and enjoy. I had a budget of about 310$ So here it is my New Gaming PC fresh off the market.

Motherboard: ECS Elitegroup IC780M-A2 (V1.0A) AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard Price: 34.99 (NEW)

Power Supply: Corsair Builder series CX430 (430) watt with sleeve cables Price: $16.99 (NEW)

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960T 3.06ghz Socket AM2+/AM3 95 watt Quad-Core Processor Price: $80.00 (NEW)

RAM: G-Skill Ripjaws 1333mhz DDR3 Ram PC3-10666 2gx2 (4gb) Price: $24.99 (NEW)

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 1gb GDDR5 Price: Unknown{Upgrading later}However I have an Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX 768mb GDDR3 Price: $10 (USED)

Case: Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid-tower case Price: $34.99

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212+ Price: $25.68

Mouse: Cobra E-3lue High Precision Gaming Mouse with Side Control 1600dpi Price: 7.00 (Ebay Bid)

That concludes My full system Specs I listed everything I bought to make the PC the total cost is $302.02 (That is including all rebates and discounts and shipping costs) Also it is including my brother's keyboard price $30.00. It is not including the (Monitor or the Radeon HD 5850) Those items I will have to save up more money for. However the monitor will probably end it's biddding auction at $60 so $372.02. I have no idea what the Radeon HD 5850 will cost.

Sites I bought from: 75% Newegg 5% Amazon 10% Craigslist 10% Ebay. You might be thinking how I built all this under 400$ Let me answer that question I take advantage of rebates and discounts. I thoroughly search every possibility to buy the item at the cheapest price. Even craigslist hehe.

Now I thank you all for looking at my build total with all the components listed. My name is Preston and Like I said I am 14 and I put together a High end gaming PC with a super cheap budget. If there is any component on this list that you disagree with please tell me. If there is anything on this whole list that has performed horribly in the past or in general is not very high quality please tell me. I tried to make my PC stats as thorough as possible I listed Price, Specs and accessories. SO I do hope you enjoyed this long post I did :) I am very proud of what I did at the age of 14 I'm still a freshman in High School lol. Anyways I have read tons of reviews on each and every product watched videos read professional reviews. And then some. So I would ask you guys if you would review this build and tell me if it can handle Starcraft 2, Skyrim, and other games of a similar quality. but I mostly like those games. Oh and LOL too (League of Legends). So yeah it would mean the world to me if you could review this entire build. I know ti sounds like a lot but I need reassurance this is a good build. I already have a 5.1 sound system in my room so no need for more sound lol. I do have an ok sound card it's a Creative Labs X-fi Xtrememusic. Don't know if it's good or not but mostly I think it's ok. Please review the motherboard and all it's specs mainly that's the one thing I was unsure about on this build. And if you could suggest a better motherboard if you find anything wrong with that ECS.

Haha, you remind me of me when I'd just finished building my first rig. Well done!
You've done incredibly well finding those bargains and for the budget that is a good machine.
No obvious bottlenecks or weak links. Congratulations. As for the games, just check minimum specs. If the games don't run fantastic you can always reduce the picture quality slightly.

haha thank you but I plan to get the Radeon Hd 5870 ASAP either that or the 5850 it uses less power and in my case that's good. My power supply might not be able to handle the 5870. Anyways thank you :)

Also I forgot to mention will ti hurt the cooling of the rig if I put dust filters on every intake/ outtake spot? should I do that or should I just cover the intakes? it alreayd has a dust filter on every other slots thats why I bought 3 dust filters.

You have plenty of cooling, go ahead with the dust covers.
If you are still concerned just boot and watch the temperatures. Download a PC probe program.

Nice bargains you got there. The 5850 is going to put a strain on that cx430. Also not the greatest motherboard, but hey if it isn't doa, you should be good to go. I don't know if your motherboard has the option but you could try unlocking at least on of the dormant cores on that 960t.

Yeah I will upgrade mobo when I ave more money but everything else I don't need ot upgrade except maybe PSU how much of a strain on PSU? I don't wan to kill it or anything

It will be pushing it close, I don't think it will kill it. Just wont run as efficient as it could. Overclocking is a different story.

my particular PSU has very good ampage on the 12v rail I think It can handle it. An if it blows dats ok :) 3 year warrantly by legendary corsair They replace your whole system if the pSU is responsible

I'm not overclocking even my Cpu lol and definiteley not the video card. So I'm safe there I was pretty sure I could build a system around a 430w PSU and I did. Actually I'mw ating for motherbaord in mail and the processor I havn't ordered yet so yeah...

haha IKR? And thanks heck it took 1 month to plan! then had to buy parts and still not done buying the parts. All I need is the CPU and I have everything. THen I can start my glorious Build :) but first a out of case test. Also does anyone here know if the Nvidia GEforce 8800 GTX can handle starcraft 2 on high?

EVeryone this is an update on my build :) I decided to get the ASUS M4A87TD EVO AMS 140w motherboard for 67$ instead of that crap board. Now I won't have to upgrade for like 4 years!!!!

The total cost of the build is $304.03 I do not know the ending price for the monitor I hope it's very low. But with everything listed above including that new Mobo the price is $304.03 A very budget build and this thing will be able to play starcraft 2 on at least medium-high. I will upgrade to a 5850 later. Total Items bought new and not used are $284.03 plus 20$ for the Hard drive and video card. Plus let's say 60$ for the monitor? it comes out to a total of $364.03 for all accessories and all computer parts to build this very budget gaming PC.

Yeah, that board is much better, it has a core unlocker feature. So I would give that a shot with the 960t as it is a thuban with 2 deactivated cores. You may not be able to get both cores unlocked with stability but even if you get one, hey that is a nice bonus. I think the 8800gt will hold you off with meduim settings for a little while (although 1080p will be rough.) All in all I think you will have a good experience for the money you spent. Not to bring up an old thread, but I bought a Radeon HD 6850 to go along with the build.

I also bought a 1680x1050 monitor Acer X193w+ monitor brand new on craigslist for 65$

And i was wondering is 1680x1050 a good resolution for gaming? And is that monitor good? And P.S. i bought the Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 for I think it was 105$ Brand new from newegg
