Hi. I need to buy a good enough motherboard for my new build. CPU is going to be i5-4570 or i5-4670. No K there, so i am not going to be overclocking. Is there anything wrong with Asus H81i-PLUS mini itx mobo? It is currently priced £ 49.38 in Amazon.co.uk. I know that Z87 has more features, but they are so much more $$$. I could spend that money for RAM. Is there any reason why I should avoid H81i-PLUS?
Important points:
1) is mobo missing some voltage regulators compared to Z87?
2) am I able to control the fans using this mobo?

Thanks for your answer. I live in Finland, so I am restricted to do price comparison between Amazon.co.uk using Free SuperSaver Delivery and the local store http://www.verkkokauppa.com/. Don't bother with that link. The site is in Finnish and the prices are in Euros. Some components are cheaper locally and it is easier to handle warranty issues locally than with Amazon or a 3rd party.

I was tempted with that H81i because I could almost get an extra 8GB of RAM with the saved $$$.

I just found a comparison with H81i and H87i included. It wasn't too kind on H81. I try to avoid going for Z87. It is just insane that U can get a full ATX Z87 mobo a lot cheaper than mini-ITX Z87. Mini-ITX is just so popular. The reason for trying to hold back is that after you throw 150-200£ at Z87, you start thinking "Why not 4670K and O.C." "Why not watercooling" "Why not getting fancy rims on my Toyota?" It never ends.

Well what is wrong with the Z87? It is his choice after all in my opinion.

What's wrong with the Z87? Well as I said, the pricing of Z87. The fact that you need to pay so much more for ITX than mATX or full ATX board. I went back looking at mATX cases, that way I would save $$$ on mobo. I could even get Z87 if I go mATX. Just cannot decide on the case.

Originally I wanted BitFenix Prodigy (mini itx). I like the full front mesh for big airflow. There is nothing as good in mATX cases 🙁 I try to get a case with a little less depth. I mean the footprint. A lot of mATX cases are just as big as ATX. Only difference is height. I need my deskspace!
