Hi

my friend asked me to build a budget rig for data entry and htpc use. And she needed a board between $70 to 110 so any one suggest a nice board below this price tag. processor is i3-2100 board from ASUS,gigabyte or biostar. MSI is not available in her area. ram is 4gb. no need of add on gpu. I suggested this board. but if there is any better ideas would be appreciated. and it should be h61.

I would get the ASUS model because it has a GPU boost feature, which can increase the performance of the integrated graphics,and the best UEFI currently on the market. ASUS also has a reputation for quality and reliability.

Go asus.

I am not sure about that though, this is my first asrock board & i am facing Zero problems with my solidworks , draftsight etc.. running simultanoeusly..

Older boards may have had that problem, for past few years asrock have improved tremendously... z68pro3 is the best budget board with z68 chipe out there.

I was planning to get the Asrock gen 3 extreme 3 board for christmas for gaming, but will it bottleneck with games or just video edditing and photo shop?

As far as i Know absolutely zero bottlenecking.. i am using it from june with heavy office applications like 3d CAD, Solidworks, draftsight etc.. zero issues for me.. he may had that with very old like athlon xp or p4 age boards.. definitely not with new ones.. i did a lot of homework before getting that board.. so don't worry go ahead with extreme 3 and you won't regret it

I have been tested every board including what u wish to buy form asrock these boards are cheap at cost. And if u provide perfect voltage (no up and downs) and proper earthing and perfect cooling then these perform good. If the board started heating more than 45 centigrade then u will experience a great lagging and hanging for every 30 seconds. So if u have patience and pennies for new build instead of dollors buy this or else go with asus or gigabyte atleast msi.

Simply for performance and reliability don't buy it. For low end PC buy it.

Ps. its not a bad board but it is not a better board where performance matters. :sol: :sol: :sol:
