Thanks for your quick reply, what are the disadvantages of running windows 10 without buying it outright and how do I do that or would you need to pm me :) also will this outperform a laptop at the same £400 price point?

Better parts including PSU...

Should do the things you have listed above. But not crypto mining, only crypto trading. For mining you need a pretty powerful gpu. You can get Windows here... https://www.howtogeek.com/244678/you-dont-need-a-product-key-to-install-and-use-windows-10/

Solution

Win 10 is link above :)

Get this if considering laptop:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-ThinkPad-i5-3320M-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01C6WNEL6/ref=sr_1_22?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1506983446&sr=1-22&keywords=laptop&refinements=p_36%3A-40000%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A1481781031%2Cp_n_condition-type%3A12319067031

Better specs

The cpu is much weaker than the g4600. That cpu has 2 cores not 4... http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-G4600-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3320M/3894vsm402

Yes I know, bench mark is not that much diff, but with SSD, speed may be quicker :) He is not doing any CPU-intensive task

Thats not a good idea mate. You are buying 5yrs old refurbished tech with slower IPC and speed paying more. It will show its age when multitasking. The quadcore speeds are pretty significant here, if not the singlecore.
The SSD price gets hugely negated there.

The 4600 is a dual core with hyper threading, and is a pretty potent cpu with good upgrade path. If he adds a gpu like 1050, he can even start gaming on that pc.at 1080p.

Aye Aye, mate. Hope IGPU will be good enough for youtube :)

Hi guys thanks for all the help. I built the system last night, had a nightmare with the io shield lol had to make the build without it. There was only 4 headers to screw the motherboard in, not sure if I should go back and put a couple additional ones? One problem I'm having is the monitor doesn't seem to be working with HDMI only VGA. I tried hooking my laptop to it with HDMI and again it would only work with VGA. When I press the menu button on the monitor nothing happens so I'm abit lost, any ideas. Also I will pick a solution sorry for the long wait. Thanks again guys
