so i have a budget of about $300 AUD. here are the specs im getting from MSY

Mobo: ASUS P8H61-M-LX DDR3 Intel 1155pin = $55

CPU: Intel Core i5-2320 3.0Ghz 1155pin Boxed CPU = $179

RAM: dunno yet should be $21

PSU: SHAW Viper-1000 Gaming PSU = $37

Case 3DAURORA 570

GPU: GT 430 (i am going to upgrade it to GTX 560 when i have money)

are these settings good for about 300 bucks? should i get a little bit better Mobo? or PSU?

thanks

thought this psu was crap, yeah im not going to play bf3 until i get my gtx 560 so i might play like bc2 or some other games until i get it. i wanted to upgrade first then get the gpu later. my pc i have now is rubbish.

That 430 will struggle to play almost anything .... its not a gaming card. You really would be best served waiting till the budget allows you to get a better GPU. Spend more on the PSU too get a known name, its all good saving money till it blows and takes the mobo out with it.

I would either wait and save a bit more to rectify those issues or build an AMD phenom II based rig allowing for a better GPU

whats a good psu for around 60 - 70 bucks? i use to play tons of games, but i stopped for a bit for school and so its a good time to upgrade since i dont play much, i will once i get the gtx 560 so im not in a rush to buy the gtx very quickly. is the motherboard good? as long as the motherboard works with the gtx and the i5 im all good.

http://msy.com.au/ there's the website ive got a hard drive which is 931 gb so i might need a bit better mobo? im not too good at this stuff 😛

yeah, yeah i got case, the psu i have now is a RealPower 550w im just going to take eveything out and replace it with the stuff im going to buy

the product no: RS-550-ACLY thats what i can see on it

Thanks! you saved me about 80 bucks 😀 ive got a 3DAURORA 570 case so it should be good.

I like your idea 13thmonkey

getting a cheaper pentium would allow a much better mobo which would last longer till upgrade needed. There are some basic Z68's on that website for $86 they have USB 3.0 and SATA 6GB/s. Add a Pentium G620 for $63. leaves enough for a GPU

Then save for a 2500k, the pentium may not be the best thing since sliced bread but you would have the basis then for a very good system with a 2500k and cooler added at a later date you should stay gaming for a while then.

so buy

Mobo: AsRock Z68M-USB3 Intel Z68 USB3.0 DDR3 = $86

CPU: Intel BOX80623G620 G620 2.6Ghz 1155pin Boxed CPU = $63

GPU: GTX 560 = $172

RAM what type?

= $321

You would have to turn some settings down in multiplayer to get get higher FPS but you would have to have done that too with the original i5 and a 440. I think this way is better as you can then save up for a 2500k which is the top dog of gaming CPU's. Married with the z68 board and the 560 you would then have a really solid gaming machine thats highly overclockable so should last you a fair while longer than the i5 you originally intended.

For the RAM try for 8GB Gskill. Its a decent brand. You can game on 4GB but when I play BF3 I do see my usage sometimes go over 4GB up to around 5/5.5

okay thanks wr6133 and 13thmonkey for your help. yeah i should have enough money for the 2500k in about a month and a half as long as this setup can run multiplayer on like low or something with 30+ fps then im good :) but yeah ill still get the 2500k worth it. plus i dont like AMD cause there way behind intel cpus

thanks guys
