Hello everyone! So I have a $350 budget to get a new gpu and cpu. I was looking for a 7870 under $200 and an AMD-FX8320.
I've searched for a few hours and not much, so I came here. What cpu do you recommend for that graphics card? And where should I buy the gpu and cpu?

Hi, you can get this Gigabyte 7870 for $199.99 with a $30 rebate card so total cost $169.99 - complete bargain.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605

You can find an fx-8320 for

http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=FX-8320BOX&c=CJ - $154

or if you want to buy from the same place as the 7870 http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/newegg/amd-cpu-fd8320frhkbox - $159

Try pcpartpicker.com very useful site for helping find the best value parts!

Here's a full part list suggestion:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($159.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($20.81 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 7870 2GB Video Card ($169.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $350.79
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

I included the cooler not because it's great for overclocking but because the stock 8320 is very poor.

If you can spare an extea $10 to spend on the cooler the Cooler master CM 212 EVO is very good(if your case can fit it)

If you were looking for an FX processor, I assume you already have the motherboard? And it would be an AM3+ socket one? The FX 6300 is a cheap and VERY efficient place for the 7870, wont bottleneck it one bit and offers superior multi tasking ability for the buck. If you dont have the motherboard already, I'd go down the FM2 / FM2+ line and get an Athlon II X4 760k (it's not the super old ones, it's the recent Richland ones, that were released last year). The FM2 line doesn't have much of an upgrade path for enthusiasts since AMD seems to be going down the APU road, but the Athlon II X4 760k is a mere $90 and it will NOT bottleneck the 7870. It's an extremely powerful processor for the buck.

Newegg is best bang for the buck in my opinion. The vid card is listed at $199. Processor is at $159.

Puts you about $10 over your budget. You could go with a FX6300 and save about 40bucks. For gaming, you won't notice a difference and the FX6300 uses less power. Both are AM3+ socket cpu so will fit in the same mobo.

Good luck!
