Cheap Practice PC

Hey everyone!

My friend and I are putting together a PC for practice purposes. I want to make a lot of crazy additions to my PC, but I want to get some practice putting together a PC from scratch.

I picked out this configuration, will it work, or am I missing something obvious?

I might also throw in a CD drive.

Also any suggestions for a free OS?
